Frequently asked questions
That’s a completely valid concern, and one I hear often. Not all therapy experiences are the same, and sometimes, the timing, approach, or fit with the therapist just isn’t quite right.
What may feel different here is that I work from a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, meaning we’ll move at your pace, and I’ll tailor our work to your unique needs, goals, and lived experience. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, ACT, IFS, and more, to find what best supports you! Not a one-size-fits-all method.
This is a collaborative space where your voice, comfort, and readiness guide the process. You're not expected to “perform” therapy, you're invited to show up as you are, and together we’ll find a path that feels meaningful and supportive for you.
There’s no set timeline for healing. Everyone’s journey is different. Some people benefit from short-term support, while others may choose to work together over a longer period. We’ll go at your pace and adjust based on your needs and goals.
I work from a trauma-informed and person-centered lens, incorporating a variety of approaches like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and grief-informed models. This allows me to tailor our work to you, your story, your needs, and your way of healing.
Life happens. You can reschedule or cancel your session according to my cancellation policy with 48 hours' notice. You can manage your appointments via email or my online booking system.
There’s no need to prepare anything formal! The consultation is simply a chance for us to connect, talk about what you're looking for, and see if we feel like a good fit.
You’re welcome to bring any questions you have about therapy, my approach, or what to expect. Due to the time limited nature, we will be keeping the conversation fairly surface level to ensure you can shift into the next part of your day.
Some questions you can consider are:
- what are you're best hopes for our time together?
-what do you hope to improve? change?
-what difference would that make in your life?
Try to find a quiet, private space for the call where you can speak openly. Most of all, just come as you are. This is a space to explore what you need and whether I’m the right person to support you.
That’s a common worry, but the truth is, if something is affecting your well-being, it’s worth talking about. You don’t need to be in crisis or have a “big” issue to benefit from therapy.
Therapy is a space for anything that’s weighing on you: stress, self-doubt, relationship challenges, life transitions, or just feeling stuck. There’s no scale for how valid your struggles are. If it matters to you, it matters in therapy, and you deserve support.
